SEEDS partners with a number of organizations to connect you with new project ideas for your GREEN Schools™ activities. Remember that any environmental project that you are doing with other groups can count as a GREEN Schools™ project too!

Enter by October 5th, 2011 to win up to $7,500 grant for a school environmental project click here.

Create Positive Change within your School or Community:
The $1,000,000 Aviva Community Fund competition is back for a fourth year to inspire local or national ideas to create positive changes within communities across Canada. Individual Canadians or charitable organizations can submit an idea for a cause they feel passionate about and then become actively involved in promoting the cause to start making change happen. The top ideas, as chosen by Canadians, have a chance to share in $1,000,000 of funding. This year there is a special prize of up to $150,000 for ideas that support at-risk youth.

Edmonton Schools - Participate in E-Waste Collection Contest to Win a Technology Grant up to $15,000

Schools are invited to participate in the fun, exciting and educational Passion for E-recycling School Challenge. The challenge engages Edmonton elementary students to bring in electronic waste from home to their schools from Monday October 15 – Monday October 22, 2012. The e-waste is then safely and responsibly recycled, preventing hazardous environmental contamination and needless waste of natural resources.

In addition to learning more about the challenge rules and regulations at www.passionforerecycling.ca, teachers will find a wealth of educational resources, including an e-waste and e-recycling learning primer word find and trivia game, a cell phone and computer dissection experiment, and a what if… exercise sheet that inspires leadership and passion around e-waste and e-recycling. Register by October 10th. (sponosred by Samsung)

Calgary Schools - Check out GREEN Career Learning Day on October 30th:

Youth in Motion’s Green Career Learning Day is a unique opportunity for youth to gain awareness of diverse career opportunities in the sustainability sector.  It will be held on October 30 from 10:00-2:00 at the Commonwealth Centre, 3961 52 Avenue NE. Youth will have an opportunity to connect with career role models, educational institutions, and professional associations that support sustainability, allowing them to learn first-hand about emerging employment and educational trends. This interactive event will inform and inspire youth to pursue their potential and interests.
